The Day After: Black Friday: Christmas coming

Shutter speed - Camera shutter - shutter button

"Camera shutter" is a curtain in front of the camera sensor. This curtain is closed until someone fires the camera with pushing the button that is called "shutter" or "shutter button". The length of time that this curtain remains open and the camera sensor is exposed to light, it is called "shutter speed".
If shutter speed is fast, that is above than 1/500 second for general photography, and above 1/1000 second for bird photography, motion is freezing completely.
If shutter speed is slow, an effect is formed, called "motion blur". In that case you can show motion in photos, like cars moving, or sports, in general something is shown moving.
In the photo you can see the difference, when a photo is taken in slow shutter speed, and when it is taken in a fast shutter speed.

Upload photo get a link with www.imgeater.com

I would like to talk about our photo sharing tool, www.imgeater.com.
It all started with our relocation in UK, and with the need of easy photo sharing with friends and family. They all wanted to see photos of me, photos of my home, photos of my home decoration, photos of my clothes, photos of my city, parks, ponds, rivers, photos of everything!
Some of my friends and relatives, they do not use Facebook, sending photos with email is not so "instant", and I needed something simple, easy, without settings, and to be sure that the photo will be seen only by the person I want, privately. After all they are not all interested in my home decoration! I want something as easy as it is to pass a link!
I could not find something so easy and funny, as I wanted, something to be easy and quick for my personal use, but also for my friends and family who do not know so much about internet.
So what is easier, than creating a new tool, the way we like it? My daughter is a student in web technologies, so she did it!

www.imgeater.com  allows you to easily upload your images, and share them with your friends.
Say that you want to share something with a friend, but you don't want all your social networking contacts to see, and you're too busy to deal with privacy settings. That's what this service is about, it makes all that easy and simple. You can just upload your images and have a link to share in seconds.Registration is free and only takes a few seconds.

When developing www.imgeater.com, we took into consideration that some people are not so internet savvy. They may be of an older age, or not having the time to get involved a lot with social media, etc. They may want something easy and quick.
With www.imgeater.com someone can create categories of photos, and get a link for the category. Also someone can select photos to create a slide show and again get a link, in addition to single photo link.
So someone can upload photos get a link for sharing.

There is also free hosting, and with a pro account you can host nearly 20000 photos on the cloud.
The link you get from the tool, when you upload your photo, it looks like that http://upimg.io/hs.

Aperture range

A good aperture range: translation from a greek post (http://lily-duck.blogspot.gr/2012/01/good-aperture-range.html)

First I want to clarify that it is not necessary to know one the details about photography to take good photos nowadays. And neither one can learns how to shtoo because they read a couplke of things on the internet.
Fortunately, digital technology provides us with useful automatic little cameras, so all we have to do is to stand in a place that that gives us a good view, to have the right lighting and shoot. Now if this photo is going to like to someone else except us, it is always a matter of taste.
However because these camera have limitations, it is advisable to learn two or three basic characteristics and learn a little theory behind these features, and to understand that there are restrictions and if it is possible to overcome them. But to do that , we must deal with our camera for hours, and we know well how our camera "behaves". And then we'll take good pictures .

But let's do a little recap

F1.8 - F16
F1.8 F2.8 F4 F5.6 F8 F11 F16

A great "maximum apperture" ( ie the low value of f / stop, F1.80 it is an advantage .
Allows more light to reach the image sensor, and thus lets you use higher shutter speed. The highest shutter speed freezes the action and stops the effect of camera shake, so the image is not blurred. That is if you want to freeze the image and not have any movement, you need to have high speed shutter, eg 1/1000.  More movement will occur in half a second, that of the 1/fourth. And most things will happen in 1/500 of a second than the thousandth.

Another advantage of the great "maximum aperture" is that it provides shallow depth of field. That can not photograph very far. This allows the background to blur nicely thus isolating your subject (especially effective when shooting portraits ).

A small "minimum" apperture ( ie reaches up to F8) is also an advantage. Allows you to use a slow shutter speed on a bright sunny day. A slow shutter speed allows you to check the movement. That will make that distinctive blur that reveals the movement.
Another advantage of the small opening is to increase the depth of field. Increasing the depth of field allows you to take landscape photos, where a large part of the image is in the foreground and reaching as far back ( usually , "infinity") But having clear display. Not to blur the background .
